A COMPETITION to give local bands the chance to play at Godiva Festival has seen ten shortlisted.
Heats for Godiva Unsigned have taken pace across the city culminating in a packed Albany Club in Earlsdon.
Now the final 10 bands will battle it out in the semi finals at Kasbah before the top six get the chance to play in the Rhythm tent on the opening night of this year's festival.
The overall winner plays the main stage the following evening.
Renowned producer and competition judge Roger Lomas said: "It's been really encouraging to see so much support for local bands and artists at all of the heats.
"The talent has been incredible with some fierce competition and this has made it extremely difficult to judge who goes through.
"However, we are happy with our semi finalists and we are really looking forward to the heats at the Kasbah and ultimately finding our winner."
The semi-finals take place this Saturday and the following Saturday at the Kasbah in Primrose Hill Street.
