Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales

JULIA Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's books are among the best on the children's market.

And this new, and hugely entertaining, show by Bedfordshire-based theatre company Scamps sees performers Joseph Carey, Peta Dennis and Mathew Hamper bring to life four of their best - Monkey Puzzle, Squash and a Squeeze, Tiddler and the Smartest Giant in Town .

Using a simple set - two ladders, a plank of wood, a table and three boxes - and props which included a green handbag, a scarf and some animal shaped cushions the three captivated their young audience for a truly entertaining 55 minutes.

And the simplicity of this show is the key to its apparent success if the very few empty seats for this one-off performance was anything to go by.
