PLANS are in place to re-ignite Coventry City's Sky Blue Trust in a new bid to give supporters a voice during its most turbulent period yet.
The future of the club is still very much in doubt following relegation from the Championship last season, which has come at a huge price financially.
The club's crippling debt, a lack of sponsorship, the current Ricoh Arena tenancy agreement and on-going negotiations over the possible ownership of the stadium have cast a dark shadow over the Sky Blues in recent weeks.
And now after a series of positive meetings, supporters are joining together to prepare for what has been described as a Doomsday scenario.
This could see the trust buy a stake in the club and follow in the footsteps of other supporter groups by being prepared to pick up the pieces should the Sky Blues enter administration.
"If Sisu threaten to put the club into administration or liquidation then we want to be in the position to know all the ins and outs of the situation," said spokesman Jan Mokrzycki.
"That's why we want to hear from supporters who are lawyers or have any type of expertise they may be able to help us with.
"The Swansea City Supporters Trust saved Swansea City over ten years ago and are still a shareholder in the club.
"They are example of how it can work and look at where they are now so we will be looking to speak to them in the near future."
The trust had lain dormant since last summer with Mr Mokrzycki initially expressing his desire to create a new group.
But John Fletcher, who is chairman of the trust, organised a meeting was held last night (Wednesday) to confirm its re-birth.
"We'll be communicating with the club not working with them," Jan added.
"We need a reason for the trust to exist and I think some fans thought negatively of the trust before, but we care about the future of our football club and its supporters."
