THE BODY of a man was found in a front garden of an empty house yesterday (Thursday).
The landlord of the house, in North Avenue, Stoke, made the discovery at around 9.30am. The man, believed to be in his early 30s, has not yet been formally identified and a post mortem will take place later today.
Police are treating the death as unexplained.
Detective Inspector Martin Slevin, from Coventry CID, said: "We believe the man was last seen in nearby Walsgrave Road at around 7pm on Wednesday night - but we don't know his movements between then until his body was found at 9.30am this morning.
"The death is unexplained at this stage and I'm appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious activity in North Avenue overnight from Wednesday to Thursday to contact me."
