Police are hunting for Simon Whitehall, who absconded from prison on Tuesday.

Coventry burglar absconds from prison

POLICE are hunting a convicted city burglar who has absconded from an open prison.

Simon Whitehall, 31, fled from HMS Sudbury on Tuesday.

He was sentenced to six years in prison at Coventry Crown Court in April, 2010.

His last address is in the Cheylesmore area of the city.

Derbyshire police said Whitehall is white, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build with short fair hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
