A COMIC tale set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland in 1934 is the latest show to be staged at the Criterion Theatre in Earlsdon.
The Cripple of Inishmaan is a strange tale in the great tradition of Irish storytelling.
As word arrives on Inishmaan that Hollywood director Robert Flaherty is coming to the neighbouring island of Inishmore to film Man of Aran, the one person who wants to be in the film more than anybody is young Cripple Billy (Elliot Relton-Williams) if only to break away from the bitter tedium of his daily life.
The rest of the cast is Deb Relton-Elves (Katie), Annie Gay (Eileen), Pete Bagley (Johnnypateenmike), Lucy Hayton (Helen), Sam Taylor (Bartley), Jon Elves (Babbybobby), Annie Woodward (Mammy) and Pete Gillam (Doctor McSharry).
Directed by Craig Shelton, it opens on Saturday and runs for a week with tickets priced at £9.50 for guests, £7.50 for members and £5 for juniors.
They are on sale from the 24 hour voicemail ticket booking system on 05601 277975 or the box office on 024 7667 5175.
