Lord Mayor visits Transport Museum on St George's Day

THE Lord Mayor of Coventry visit Coventry Transport Museum’s exhibition of Royal Vehicles ‘Royalty On The Road' as part of celebrations of St George’s Day.

Coun Kieran Mulhall was welcomed by a colour party of 15 Standard Bearers from the City of Coventry Standard Bearers Association.

Bev Beverley-Smith, his niece who works at the Transport Museum, was made his special consort for the visit.

She kept the special consort duty a secret which came as a lovely surprise to both her Uncle – the Lord Mayor and to her colleagues at the Museum.

Royalty On The Road, which showcases a range of very special vehicles used by Royalty, opened at Coventry Transport Museum on April 6, and thousands of visitors have already flocked to the Museum to enjoy the display.

The exhibition is open until Sunday 10th June, with an arranged programme of visits from the region’s civic dignitaries throughout the run.
