THIS man is wanted by police in connection with an assault on a female member of staff at a fast food restaurant.

It happened at McDonald's in Cross Cheaping just after 7am.

The man argued with the 21-year-old staff member before reaching across the counter and grabbing her hair.

As he attempted to pull her across the counter the victim suffered a broken finger, which later required hospital treatment. The offender got away in a black cab.

PC Sharon Brown said: "This was an unprovoked attack on a young lady in her work place; an environment in which she should feel safe.

"We are urging anyone who may have seen the incident or who recognises the man responsible to come forward."

The man is described as white, clean shaven and around 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build with dark brown hair. He spoke with a Midland accent and was wearing a dark coloured jacket with a white motif on the left side, blue jeans and trainers.

The assault happened on Easter Sunday (April 8).
