Barclays's High Street branch is one of 112 across the country to open on bank holidays.
BARCLAYS is to break tradition and open on bank holidays.
The banking giant has confirmed Good Friday will mark the start of a new programme to extend opening hours.
It will be open from 10am until 2pm on every bank holiday except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
Theresa Miller, manager of the branch on High Street in the city centre, said: "In response to customers evolving needs, customers now have more choice about when they want to visit the branch.
"We are delighted to offer our customers the opportunity to see us at the branch outside the traditional banking times.
"The Bank Holiday opening hours have arrived just in time for the Easter which makes great sense for our customers. Bank Holidays can often be a time when customer’s have a little more time to reflect on their finances and is traditionally a busy time in the housing market.
"Whatever the reason we will be happy for our customers to take advantage of the new opening hours."
