FOUR friends are gearing up for the challenge of a lifetime when ride over 1,000 miles in memory of their close friend who died four years ago.
Trevor Court, Ali Nutting, Paul Hooper and Dean Beauchamp will be making the journey from the top of Britain at John O'Groats down to the bottom at Lands End to raise money for Warwickshire Air Ambulance.
Their friend Ryan Lee was killed in a car accident in 2007, aged just 23, and the air ambulance crew played their part in trying to save him.
"Ryan was a good friend to all of us and we wanted to do something to mark five years since he passed away," Dean told the Observer.
"We are a fairly active bunch but we know how difficult this task is going to be.
"This is going to be a one-off trip of a lifetime for all of us so we'd like to raise a huge amount of money for the cause and would
urge people to support is on our journey and donate."
Family and friends of Ryan have previously raised over £15,000 for the air ambulance through a variety of charity events which include golf tournaments, a parachute jump and a 10km run.
