Boy, 11, seriously hurt after being hit by a bus

AN 11-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being hit by a bus.

It happened on Abbey Road in Coventry at around 5.20pm on Wednesday.

The boy suffered suffered serious arm and facial injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to University Hospital for further emergency treatment.

"Due to the serious injuries suffered by the boy, the ambulance was given a police escort to the hospital to ensure he got the further treatment he required as soon and as safely as possible," said a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service
