HUMAN remains have been in a small area of woodland near the University of Warwick.
Police sealed off the area in Wainbody Woods off Stoneleigh Road after the discovery by a member of the public walking their dog on Sunday morning.
The remains have been removed for examination by forensic experts and a pathologist, but the scene has been preserved while further searches are carried out by police.
DI Stuart Bell said: "The remains have been confirmed as human and the death is being treated as unexplained at this stage.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the deceased."
