MADNESS frontman Suggs payed a special visit to the 2-Tone Village during a rare visit to the city on Sunday.
The singer dropped by to view the village in Ball Hill which is dedicated to the genre of music he helped make popular over 30 years ago before heading off to perform his one man show at Warwick Arts Centre.
2-Tone Central director Pete Chambers said: "Way back in 1979 Suggs was frequent visitor to Coventry as the city was 2-Tone Records corporate base of course.
"He seemed impressed by the 2-Tone Café and the 2-Tone Central area of the Village, especially some of the old photos of himself taken on previous visits.
"He was happy to sign photos for the few invited guests including members of Coventry’s All Or Nothing Scooter Club and the 2-Tone Central team."
An important gig to help fit out the exhibition area of the 2-Tone Village is planned for March 24 at Coventry University.
