A CONCERT at King Henry VIII School will see pupils test their skills alongside some of the region’s top players.
Spires Philharmonic Orchestra, the school’s Orchestra-in- Residence, will join its most talented young musicians to perform Beethoven’s ‘Coriolan’ Overture and Schubert’s ‘Unfinished’ Symphony in the main school hall for the annual spring concert on Saturday, February 4.
Henry VIII’s own Chamber Orchestra will be taking the lead in tackling Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings, while some of its instrumental ensembles will perform works by Mozart, Verdi and Ravel.
The conductor is Neil Aston and tickets are £5, and £3 concessions, available at the door. The show starts at 7pm.
