THE WIFE of a murdered businessman has pleaded for information to help bring his killers to justice.
Heartbroken Maryam Jawaid described how her family were failing to cope with the loss of husband Ali, who she described as a warm-hearted, loving, hard-working father.
The couple, married for 13 years, had lived happy lives with their their six-year-old son and four-year-old daughter.
But on November 9 last year, 43-year-old Ali was attacked while delivering mobile phones to a store in Sewell Highway.
Robbers hit him over the head with an iron bar before driving off in his red Toyota van with £13,000 of mobile phones.
He suffered a fractured skull and brain hemorrhage, and died seven days later.
Mrs Jawaid, from Ward End in Birmingham, told the Observer: "He was my bread winner. I'm left with nothing and every single day is filled with suffering.
"My children feel devastated. My six-year-old is having nightmares, my four-year-old is irritable and struggling to sleep. She is missing her dad but is too young to understand. She will hold me and ask 'when is daddy coming home?'.
"I can share photos and videos with them as they grow older but they will miss him for the rest of their lives.
"Anybody with information about the attack should come forward. I cannot move on with my life until they get the punishment they deserve."
Two men, both 25 from Coventry, were arrested and bailed in connection with the incident, and police have this week issued a fresh appeal.
Detective Inspector Sharon Naughton said: "We have made significant progress and continue to uncover more details about the attack.
"However, I believe there are still people out there who know what happened during that initial robbery and who was responsible. I’d ask them to search their consciences and contact us."
DI Naughton added many of the phones remain unaccounted for and urged anyone who had bought any recently and now had suspicions about where they came from to call her on 0345 113 5000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
