SAVE Our City campaigners are refusing to fully back Gary Hoffman and his investors despite the Sky Blues' owners finally agreeing to hold more discussions about a potential takeover.
Hoffman had a bid for the club turned down in August last year and since then Sisu have come under pressure to put the club up for sale by the campaign group.
The club's interim chief executive Tim Fisher confirmed this week a letter had been received from the former vice-chairman to discuss the future and they have agreed to meet to discuss both their intentions.
But the Save Our City campaign, which has been created by loyal City supporters, wants more information before they give Hoffman their full support.
"We're not going to just jump from one fire to another," said Jan Mokryzcki, who helped kick start the campaign.
"We give a cautious welcome to the news that CCFC and Gary Hoffman have announced talks regarding the future of the club.
"After four years of poor stewardship Save Our City feel it is time for Sisu to relinquish the ownership and actively seek the sale of the club, however without knowing the full details of any offer it would be impossible to give it our unequivocal backing."
Fisher confirmed to the Observer last month that the owners were still searching for co-investment but it is not understood at this stage if a formal offer has been made to the club.
Hoffman has remained tight-lipped throughout the process and any details from the talks are likely to remain confidential until a conclusion is met.
"It is obviously very early days in the process but we would urge both sides to conduct these talks constructively, positively and ensuring that, above all else, any decisions made are for the long term good of the club, the supporters and the community the club serves," said Mr Mokryzcki.
"We will be seeking clarification from the club and Gary Hoffman of their respective positions and their short and long term plans for the club."
