SKY Blues defender James McPake has moved to Hibernian on loan to free up funds for manager Andy Thorn to continue improving his squad.
The 27-year-old has moved to the Scottish Premier League (SPL) outfit on loan for the remainder of the 2011/12 season and will return on June 30.
His career with the Sky Blues has been plagued by injury which has limited him to just 35 appearances since joining from Livingston in January 2009.
The transfer will come as no surprise to supporters after the defender admitted he was becoming frustrated with a lack of first team football at the squad.
"James has made clear his desire to play regular first team football and we fully support that," said Coventry City chief executive Tim Fisher.
"We wish him well in the SPL and will review the situation when he returns to us after his loan spell.
"Andy Thorn is also committed to continue strengthening the squad following the encouraging debuts of Alex Nimely and Hermann Hreidarsson at the weekend and this loan move will help towards that."
