LUKAS Jutkiewicz will not play against the Sky Blues for his new club Middlesbrough after joining the play-off chasers for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.5million.

The 22-year-old put pen to paper on a four and a half year deal at Boro this week after signing on an emergency loan basis ahead of last weekend's 2-0 defeat at home to Burnley. He came on as a 57th minute substitute.

However he will not feature against his former club this Saturday after Andy Thorn and Tony Mowbray came to a mutual agreement as part of the transfer.

Jutkiewicz signed for the Sky Blues from Everton in August 2010 and quickly established himself as key player at the club under Thorn.

He made 69 appearance for the Sky Blues, scoring 18 goals, including nine this season and cemented himself as a firm fans' favourite with his workman-like displays, which sparked interest from a host of top Championship clubs.

"We wish Lukas all the best for the future,” said Coventry's interim chief executive Tim Fisher.

"We are continuing to work with Andy Thorn to help strengthen the squad in the transfer window."
