A FAMILY man was stripped of his treasured diamond-studded Rolex watch during a terrifying street robbery.
The 52-year-old was in Almond Tree Avenue, Wood End when he was threatened by two men into handing over the designer timepiece.
It is believed his attackers, both white men in their late teens or early 20s, knew him as they referred to him by his nickname.
Police said they must have known his movements and were understood to have been lying in wait for him.
The victim suffered broken cheekbone and back injuries in the attack just after 6pm on Tuesday, January 10.
Detective Constable Darrell Duffy said: "The victim is a hard working, local family man saved up for many years to buy the Rolex.
"He is not a rich businessman flashing his wealth, he was very proud of having saved enough for the watch and it distraught someone has taken it from him.
"We know the offenders made off over grassland towards River Walk and local enquiries are continuing in an attempt to identify them."
