  • City charity launches emergency Burma appeal

    CITY charity Global Care launched an emergency appeal this week to raise £50,000 to supply immediate support to those affected by the devastating cyclone which struck Burma at the weekend. Over 22,000 were killed and 40,000 remain missing in the wake of Cyclone Nargis, which savaged Burma's Irrawaddy delta on Saturday. United Nations aid agencies have started negotiations with Burma's military government in a bid to relax restrictions and allow aid teams into the country. ...»
